History:

Airport History

Named after the first Governor of Greece. Operations began in 1937, with the first commercial flight in 1949. The runway (extended into the lagoon) is one of the most famous in Europe for enthusiasts. Privatized in 2017, Fraport Greece completed a major terminal expansion in 2021.

  • Bus: €1.10 (Blue Bus No. 15 connects the airport to San Rocco Square and the Port).
