History
Airport History
Opened in 1971 to support the island's growing fame as a tourist destination. Following its privatization in 2017, Fraport Greece completely transformed the airport with a €25 million modernization project finished in 2021. The terminal features a unique "Cycladic-style" architecture that blends modern aviation requirements with local white-washed aesthetics.
