History
Airport History
Established in 1972 as a joint civil/military airfield. Because of the island's global popularity, the terminal frequently reached 300% capacity until the Fraport Greece takeover. In 2021, a massive modernization project was completed, featuring a new 15,000 m2 terminal that combines modern efficiency with traditional Cycladic aesthetics.
