History
Airport History
Established in 1984, the airport is located on the northern tip of the island. It is primarily a military base (135th Combat Group) protecting the central Aegean, with a small civilian terminal. In 2023, the civilian terminal underwent a minor "facelift" to improve the experience for the growing number of boutique travelers visiting the island.
