Airport History
Opened in 1983. In 2021, Astypalaia became the world’s first "smart" and carbon-neutral island through a partnership between the Greek government and the Volkswagen Group. As of 2026, the airport has integrated electric vehicle charging hubs for ground operations and shuttle services, reflecting the island's transition to a green economy.
