The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) Governor, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, and Mrs. Pepi Lykou, General Director of Economic Oversight, participated at a pivotal international aviation conference held in Athens, organized by the American Association of Airports Executives (AAAE), in partnership with the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE).
The international aviation conference, including the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) Board of Directors Meeting and the U.S. / Central Europe Aviation Issues Conference, provided a collaborative forum for aviation industry leaders and policymakers.
Dr. Tsitouras joined industry leaders, including U.S. Embassy representatives, in the conference’s opening session, on October 22, highlighting aviation’s role in tourism and regional economic development.
Mrs. Lykou represented HCAA at the IAAE Board Meeting, with U.S. Embassy representatives, on October 21, where she delivered an address focused on recent regulatory updates within European Union and Greece's aviation sector. Her insights underscored the HCAA’s dedication to safety and operational efficiency, aligning with international standards to strengthen Greece’s position in global aviation.
The agenda included sessions on sustainability, collaborative aviation dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and innovations in airfield safety and airspace management.
Mrs. Lykou continued October 23 sharing Greece’s regulatory insights with international peers throughout the conference, fostering knowledge exchange to support mutual goals in aviation economic and environmental sustainability, and modernization.
The participation of HCAA’s leadership in the 28th Annual North America/Central Europe Airport Issues Conference reinforces Greece’s commitment to a safer, more sustainable, and innovative aviation landscape, strengthening cross-border alliances and advancing best practices in the industry.
